"The Girls' House and its atmosphere quickly became a safe haven for me amidst the turmoil of life."

Welcome to join us as you are

Tyttöjen Talo Helsinki (Girls’ House Helsinki), operated by Loisto Setlementti ry, provides support and activities for girls and young women aged 10 to 28, with respect for gender diversity and the right to self-identification. We strengthen young people’s participation in the community and society. We create space for diversity and a more equal society, where everyone has the right to find their own path and live a life true to themselves. We highlight the diversity of girlhood and critically examine gender-related expectations, roles, and norms.

Tyttöjen Talo Helsinki (Girls’ House Helsinki) offers professionally guided, community-based group activities as well as leisure-time programs

Young people are welcome to visit the Girls’ House either on their own or accompanied by a support person. We also welcome school classes and other groups interested in getting to know our activities. A visit can be arranged by contacting the Girls’ House directly. Young people are also welcome to join our activities without a scheduled introduction visit, during our opening hours.

During an introductory visit, you will receive comprehensive information about our various activities and guiding principles. The visit includes a tour of the Girls’ House facilities and the opportunity to meet our staff. You are welcome to share information about yourself, your life situation, and your needs — as much or as little as you wish. Together, we will consider which activities might best suit your current situation. Our activities are also supported by volunteers.
